Update

It's been awhile - sorry. Ok, so what have I learned recently about photography? Not much sadly. I haven't really been able to do many sessions because of time and/or weather. What I can tell you is this: Always pay attention to the details. If there's one thing I can't stress enough it's details.

For instance, I did a baby shoot a few weeks ago, got home to edit the images and found that the headband I used as a prop was sticking out the side of her head. Like a lot. So I had to spend the time editing it out (which is still a learning process) because it looked so bad. A random piece of white ribbon sticking straight out of her left ear (or so it looked.) DETAILS people. That could have been prevented if I'd been paying attention and saved me 30 minutes in editing. What if I hadn't been able to edit that out? Picture = ruined.

Up and running

I've been doing this on my own for going on a year now. I love taking pictures. This first year has been interesting. I've learned that building a client base is hard. Incredibly hard. I haven't had many repeat customers yet, which makes me sad and nervous. I'm hoping that will change soon.

I'm writing this and developing this blog at the suggestion of a friend. I'll try to keep the updates coming, post helpful hints and advice to those out there that may just be starting off.
